I took my courage into my hands over the weekend and bought something on e-bay!
I was too scared until now, but we needed a TV bracket that we couldn't find in the shops (for less than €250!), so I had a look on-line. I found a few great ones on e-bay, so I decided to have a go.
It was so exciting, bidding away.
I won it for £40.
The bracket was delivered on Wednesday, so that's not bad at all. It looks great.
I bought a much bigger (more expensive) item on Monday (again for a snip compared to the shops). That time the bidding was frenetic. I loved it, but stuck to my limit and I won again! It hasn't arrived yet, so I hope everything goes ok, but I'm feeling positive enough.
I have bought on-line before, but never on e-bay.
Was I the last e-bay virgin in Cork?

Yes you were the last, because I took the plunge last week and bought a book (what a surprise)that I couldn't have found in the shops.
Guarenteed we were the last two, but now we can walk with that certain swagger that lets everyone know: They've done it. oh the possibility for innuendo...but no, I'm a nice boy.
:-) and I'm a nice girl, RM!
Glad to hear it!
Mairead,
Congrats on..er..losing yer Ebayginity.
Sorry to change topic but I've a lead on a bit of a hotel discount for Limerick if you haven't booked yet. It's not loads off or anything but it's where we'll be staying.
Thanks Dev, no nowt booked yet - what's the story? I'll check over at yours now too.
watch out, you'll be addicted by christmas :-)
Mairead,
I don't want to put the details of where we're staying up at mine.Bit of a security concern you see.
I'll give details here in your comments unless there is another way to pass it on.I should be hearing back from the manager of the place tomorrow and will let you know.
Now let your inner Ebay demon free and consuuuuuuuuuuuume :)
Conortje, it looks that way!!
Dev, ok great.
Mairead,
Try Darragh O' Neill (manager) at the Sarsfield Bridge Hotel (061 317169)
He's sorting us out for 100E per night w/brekkie.Email is Info@TSBH.ie.
Mairead,
Never mind. It's all off now. There's no meet or bbq I'm afraid.
It'll have to be a cup of tea in Cork now after all.
Never mind, Dev. I have e-mailed you. A cuppa in Cork ain't so bad 'tall.
I bought a bazooka and an improvised explosive device. Also a kilo of cocaine and three Latvian hookers.
No bother with customs then, Bock? I have bought three things now - including a laptop for a third of the price here in the shops! Risky, but hey - you only live the once! It looks super.
Good on you. I can't imagine myself going there- that's what they said we would all be doing once the computer really got its grip, but I've not seen it and I guess I wont in my lifetime. I'm not mad about shopping but I would miss it if it went away tomorrow.
Y;-) Paddy
I love the on-line shopping. I have about 10 favourite "shops" now. Give it a go, Paddy!
